This webinar outlines current understandings of disability and presents recent research findings on the prevalence, risk and prevention of abuse for children with disability. Practical strategies for inclusive practice were discussed, with a focus on creating child-safe organisations.

It explores the three main questions:

  • How can we prevent sexual abuse of children with disability today and into the future?

Learning Outcomes:
  • To develop an understanding that children with a disability are more vulnerable to abuse.
  • To understand that a child with a disability is a child first.
  • To develop an awareness of what child safe organisations can do to safeguard children with disability.
